Jess Ong presents the Territory-wide Afternoons program on ABC Radio Darwin, and loves to agitate and advocate through conversation.
Jess was part of the creative team behind the much-loved community storytelling event, SPUN Stories. She’s also created live, immersive audio works in a sushi train restaurant, a gym complete with bodybuilders, and the working baggage carousel of an international airport.
Community, curiosity, creativity and care are at the heart of everything Jess does: from being a mother to traversing the spectrum of life on air. She has a lifelong love of radio, and relishes the privilege it brings of peering into people’s lives and keeping them company, sharing a moment never to be repeated.
Jess has a love for intimate and obscure stories. She’s passionate about harnessing and unpacking the joy and complexities that come with the human condition in bold and surprising ways.
