Stella is excited to announce the next iteration of Stella Day Out in Brisbane.
Local readers and writers will have the chance to hear directly from Stella Prize-listed writer Mirandi Riwoe as she discusses her craft.
Mirandi Riwoe is the author of A Short History of Longans. Her novel, Stone Sky Gold Mountain, won the inaugural ARA Historical Novel Prize and the Queensland Literary Award and was shortlisted for the Stella Prize and longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award. Her novella The Fish Girl won Seizure’s Viva la Novella and was shortlisted for the Stella Prize. Sunbirds was shortlisted for the Barbara Jefferis Award, while The Burnished Sun is a collection of her short stories and novellas. Mirandi has a PhD in Creative Writing and Literary Studies (QUT). She is on the board of the Australian Society of Authors and is the fiction editor for Westerly Magazine.
This will be a vibrant day of exciting conversation and big ideas, celebrating some of the best new Australian writing, hosted at Quest on Wickham Terrace.

Teresa Dyson is an experienced company director and chair with a broad range of experience spanning the private and public sectors, with strong governance and leadership skills developed through a combination of diverse roles. Dyson has been closely involved in strategic decision making and transformative business and organisational structuring processes for entities in the media, financial services sector, infrastructure projects, transport services and the energy and resources industry. She is the Stella Board Treasurer.
