Stella Online Literature Club 2026

Empathy, Expression, and Engagement with Women and Non-binary Literature

“Stella has opened up a new world of diverse texts to our students by introducing them to ideas that inspire, challenge, and empower them to become more critical readers, thinkers, and writers themselves.”

Alice

English Teacher, Melbourne Girls Grammar

The Stella Online Literature Club invites high school students to explore and celebrate women and non-binary voices in Australian literature. This program offers resources to help English teachers lead engaging weekly sessions. Each year the school will choose a new book to engage with from the 6 shortlisted Stella books.

The Stella Online Literature Club is designed for Year 9–12 students and led by an English teacher. Sessions run weekly from April to July. A Presentation Night can be held at the end of the program to showcase the student’s learning.

Through deep reading, discussion, and creative projects, students develop empathy, critical thinking, and comprehension skills.
