Digital Workshop Series

In our Digital Workshop Series, Stella brings Australia’s finest writers into your classroom on demand. Each workshop consists of a 45 minute pre-recorded video with supporting exercises and worksheets, and can be watched in the classroom or at home. Designed to assist teachers in remote-learning contexts, these flexible workshops can also supplement classroom teaching.

Writing Self-Care

with Evelyn Araluen

Workshop Duration:
45 minutes

Young people today are living through a time of increasing instability and uncertainty. Yet everyday we see more and more evidence of young people speaking up and out against injustice.

Writing through conflict, precariousness and trauma helps document the world we live in, to provide witness for the things that we can change, and to give voice to feelings that don’t always get to be heard.

This workshop explores the relationship between writing and self-care to explore tools and forms that can help shape and develop your voice.

Each workshop is supported by follow-up activities that can be implemented in the classroom to help students produce a piece of creative work.

Autobiographical Comics

with Mandy Ord

Comics Artist

Workshop Duration:
55 minutes

In this fun and hands-on workshop, Mandy Ord shares her passion and fascination for autobiographical comics and life-writing. Students will explore techniques that cover the creation of a comic story – from concept through to finished artwork.
